Street Department

Welcome to the City of Barron Street Department. The Street Department has a staff of 6  full time employees. The department is responsible for the maintenance of alleys, storm water drainage systems, bridges, culverts, public right of way and over 22 miles of street.

 

SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE STREET DEPARTMENT:

  • Maintenance of Concrete, Asphalt & Gravel Streets &Alleys
  • Maintenance of Storm Drainage System
  • Bridge & Culvert Maintenance
  • Street Sweeping
  • Traffic Control & Signage
  • Mowing & Noxious Weed Control of Public Right of Ways& Properties
  • Snow Removal & Ice Control
  • Storm Damage Cleanup
  • Traffic Control for Emergency Services & City Council Approved Events

Our staff is dedicated to public safety on our streets, alleys and public owned properties providing these services in a consistent ,safe, reliable and cost-effective manner. We strive to serve our community and promote quality services through open and honest communication.

Debris Site

The City of Barron  community debris site, located at the east end of Woodland Avenue

 Hours of availability will be as follows:

Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, working days for the Street Department

2nd and 4th Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Contractors will be billed $20 per large and $10 per small load. Please, no material from outside city limits. City of Barron residents can dump material during these hours at no charge. 

. Acceptable materials include leaves, yard waste, brush and logs. Full trees and stumps will not be accepted. Thank you!
