Barron hosts festivals throughout the year some of which include Spring Fling, Music in the Park,  the Fall Festival, and Business and Industry Appreciation Day.
 

Music in the Park
The Third Tuesday of each month (May-August) during the summer is Music in the Park from 7:00pm - 9:00pm - Free! Join us for music, food and fun. Bring a lawn chair, grab a picnic table or take a seat in the pavillion at Anderson Park. Local musicians Chris Kroeze, John Pisa, Charlie Uehlin and the R Country Gals were the entertainment for the summer of 2013.  Over 300 people joined R Country Gals in August for a night of great music.

Spring Fling

The Barron Chamber's Spring Fling will be as May 17, 2014 at the BACC.
On May 11th, 2013 businesses showcased their products and services at the Barron Area Spring Fling!! The event ran from  8:00 am to 1:30 pm. In addition to the business displays,craft vendors and other activities including Shred Away, Chainsaw Carving by "the Bear Guys", Countryview Greenhouse, a Silent Auction, Kids Corner, a Petting Zoo, Coin and Antique Appraisers, and the K9 Police Dog were present. The Barron-Chetek Hockey Association offered concessions throughout the day including a pancake breakfast.

Watch for details of the 2014 Fall Fest!

The 2013 Fall Fest had an activity for everyone. To set the tone for Fall Fest, businesses were encouraged to help “decorate the town” and participate in the Scarecrow Decorating Contest.  Another pre-activity of Fall Fest is the Golden Pumpkin Hunt. Clues were posted in the Barron News-Shield, giving individuals an opportunity to hunt for the Golden Pumpkin. The lucky winner won $50.00 in Barron Dollars.

Events on Friday were a Brat Feed at Econofoods sponsored by Gift from the Heart and Craft Vendors on LaSalle Ave.

Saturday started off with a Pancake Breakfast at Foursquare Church, a "Walk in the Park"- 5k family fitness walk. Starting and ending at Anderson Park.

Bicycling enthusiasts enjoyed the splendid fall colors during the Tour De Color Bike Ride, then a Health Fair at Anderson Park with demo's by Extreme Fitness Body Buidling, Becky's School of Dance, and Brown's Karate Academy. Mayo Clinic Health System performed Blood Pressure checks and health questions answered, and Personal Fitness Trainers were onsite.

A Three-person Golf Scramble took place at Rolling Oaks Course and the ever-popular Kiddie Parade, Kid's Games & Activities with Craft/Vendors/Farmer’s Market, and music was at Anderson Park from 10:00am - 3:00pm

The Barron Band /Choir had a car wash fundraiser at Econofoods and  the Fifth Street Saloon a Cribbage Tournament.

St. Joseph Church sponsored a Pig Roast Dinner serving over 300 people with a Silent Auction and Raffle Tickets, entertainment was by Chris Kroeze & Luke Nukem.

Barron’s Fall Fest would not be possible without the support of many business sponsors, together with the help of many organizers and volunteers who worked countless hours to bring this years celebration to our community. 




 



Business and Industry Appreciation Day
The Barron Chamber of Commerce honored businesses on July 31st in the Barron area with a venue for businesses/friends to get together and have fun!
A 3-person Golf Outing at Rolling Oaks Golf Course was enjoyed by over 50 attendees. Following the golf outing, prizes were awarded at the club house for each hole and the top teams recognized. There was a complimentary meal at Rolling Oaks Restaurant after the golf outing where people from area businesses could network.  

 


Lyndon Ellefson Half Marathon and 5k Walk/ Run 

This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Our first fourteenth run/walks have been enormously successful, raising over $325,000 to directly benefit the BACC and enrich the quality of life for Barron Area Residents. www.thebacc.com

Entry Fees:
Half-Marathon: $30 registration fee, $40 on day of event
5K Run/Walk: $15 registration fee, $20 on day of event
Entry fee includes: Short sleeve performance T-shirt, a post-race brunch, use of the Aquamassage, child care and full use of the BACC facilities including showers, swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and more.
Start times are as follows:
Half-Marathon: 7:30am     5K Run/Walk: 8:00am
Please join us for a Post-Race Brunch beginning at 8:00am
